Freundschaft (Friendship). This symbolic collage is created by German mail artist Johannes J. Musolf.
I fully agree with the words of Johannes: "Friendship between our countries should be normal and I think Putin and Schröder have shown, that it is possible. But it's much more nessessary that there are friendly connections between people like you and me... Mailart is an excellent way to found friendship all arround the world and we will continue with it!"
Envelope of the letter received two weeks ago from Johannes J. Musolf, Braunfels / Lahn, Germany. It has become the biggest work in Alyonka mail art collection.

One more present from Johannes J. Musolf. This small collage has the title "Für wahr". Johannes used a small part of an advertising about pipe-tobacco. As he explaines, "Für wahr" normaly is not used in german language nowadays. It has been used in novels and dramas in former times. For example somebody would say: "Das ist für wahr ein vorzüglicher Wein" (This is truely an excellent wine). "Für wahr" means true, really or in truth.
The head in this collage is cut out of original paper that is black on the backside and was used during the war to close windows when light was inside a room to protect the house against American or English bombers. It was called "darking-paper".

Envelope received from New York, NY, USA. It was created by The Sticker Dude, who is at once "a state of mind, an avid graphic artist, poet, printer, editor and appropriationist, with a penchant for the generation of easily accessible, low cost art". The Sticker Dude often distributes his creations (stickers, memo pads, etc.) compulsively and free of charge and prefers collaboration with others.

I have just posted this work at http://sputnikproject.blogspot.com. It is dedicated to Sputnik, launched in Russia in 1957. But I believe it has the right to appear there as well. No wonder that this collaged envelope from Anastasia Viktorova is filled with the images of our chocolate girl. This post card was made by Jarie Ruddy, teacher of mail art in a small school for gifted children in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, USA. I received it in October 2006 – just before the Alyonka show.
I didn't have time to scan the work as it was immediately included in the exposition together with 30 post cards created by his talented 10-year-old students. Now I can post Jarie's card, and I do it with great pleasure! Thank you, Jarie!

Circulatory record on CD received from Federico Barabino, Buenos Aires, Argentina. According to the instructions attached I have to make 5 copies of this record (guitar meditative improvisations), to design them "with total freedom" and to send them to 5 mail artists all over the world.
