ALYONKA MAIL ART CALL

Artists from around the world are invited to send drawings, paintings, collages, etc., inspired by the image of a little Russian girl Alyonka that since 1966 is being used as a chocolate brand in Russia. Artworks devoted to Alyonka must have stamps and addresses on the front. The purpose of the project is to create a collection of mail artworks ready to be published and exhibited.

Virtual image of Alyonka may be downloaded on the site of French mail-artist Denis Charmot - http://denis.charmot.free.fr. Actual image of Alyonka (on chocolate wrapper) will be sent in reply to your mail art.

The project has no deadline. The conclusion of the first stage of the project will be a mail art exhibition in Yoshkar-Ola Museum of Fine Arts in 2006. Documentation will be sent to all participants. Artworks must be mailed to:
